UK Payments Administration is currently recruiting for an IM Analyst to work in its Information Management (IM) Unit.

The IM unit carries out a central information management function within the UK Payments Administration collective of companies and brands of collecting data from their members to deliver a first class statistical service to these companies, their members and to the wider public. Reporting to the Head of IM you will contribute to the production of regular and ad hoc reports, publications and online statistics, which support and inform business decision-making. Primarily the role supports the work of the Fraud Control unit (FCU).

You will be required to provide dedicated MI support to the activities of the FCU, providing an integral link between FCU and Information Management. You will process and validate industry fraud management information for use by the Plastic Fraud Prevention Forum and the Fraud Control Steering Group, their members and other stakeholders to help shape strategic and tactical initiatives and specific project work for plastic and non-plastic payments. You will critically examine data submissions for plausibility and accuracy and where necessary liaise with external contacts to resolve discrepancies. You will also be required to support the system and user administration requirements of the IM Unit’s systems and processes, ensuring that full documentation of work processes and procedures is maintained.

The role requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and Word as well as a good understanding of the principles of databases and data administration. Your output is mostly in the form of written commentaries prepared for member committees and working groups, together with personal presentations. Experience of analysing, reporting and commenting on statistics and information is essential, coupled with the ability to write clearly in good business English. It is important that you have proven problem-solving, literacy and interpretation skills, and be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. An understanding of the industry fraud environment would be beneficial.
